Ocean Day School For Love Of Learning
Our position on the education of school aged children has withstood the test of time for more than twenty-one years.
Each child has value and has something unique to contribute to the classroom and school. It is our mission to know our students intimately in order to develop their full potential. Each child is special with his own way of learning. Some are visual learners, some are auditory learners, and others are kinesthetic learners. Many rely on multiple modalities in order to succeed. We take no chances and waste no time. We believe it is imperative to immerse children in multi modality learning at an early age. We believe that language is the basis of all learning and that learning must take place in a systematic sequence with continuity throughout the grades.

Ocean Day School was founded in the fall of 1982 with the goal and idea of operating as a fully functioning 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
The nonsectarian school then opened its doors to 45 students in Kindergarten through Third Grade.
Ocean Day School was founded in 1982 by a group of Ocean County educators and businessmen having recognized a need for early literacy education, intensive phonics, full day kindergarten and an affordable alternative to public and parochial school. Ocean Day School opened its first facility in the Cross River Mill Professional Center in Lakewood. The school opened with forty-five students in kindergarten through third grade in a six room space. Two administrators taught the kindergarten and first grades. One additional teacher comprised the first faculty.
By 1986 the school expanded to include pre-kindergarten through sixth grade relocating to our location on North Lake Drive, next to Georgian Court University within the Christ United Methodist Church complex.
A student who is struggling to meet with success at his grade level very well may have missed vital lessons in prior years, perhaps due to frequent school changes, chronic illness, or differentiated learning styles.
On many occasions, weaknesses in auditory or visual processing have gone undiagnosed, causing a child to suffer through years without progress.
